A particularly complex project, Republic is a former East India Dock, just north of Canary Wharf. Acting for LaSalle Investment Management and other institutional investors, including Manchester Superannuation Fund, British Gas Pension Fund and Santander, the freehold estate was originally acquired for £170 million.
What was once 700,000 sq ft of secondary office accommodation has since been transformed, alongside development partner Trilogy Real Estate, into one of London’s most exciting mixed-use campuses. Extensive refurbishment has created a thriving education destination for over 19,000 students, while planning has been secured for a major data centre and substantial residential and PBSA development, taking the estate’s total potential to approximately 1.1 million sq ft.
Most recently, Kauffmans alongside Knight Frank were appointed to bring The Inventory Estate to market. Available as a whole or in parts, the six-acre campus combines education, digital infrastructure and living sectors into a unique investment opportunity. Offers in excess of £247.5 million are invited for the freehold interest.
